Pragan
Postinen
Can be home to characters.
Pragan…home to Postinen’s three agricultural oligarchs. Their power and influence are outmatched only by the council, for these three massive farms produce a little under 87% of Postinen’s entire food supply.
Over half of Pragan’s territory is plowed fields full of grain and corn, with hundreds of smaller specialized fields. The farming oligarchs put on a show of healthy competition with one another, but it’s a well-known secret that they equally split their profits and conspire with one another.
Their fields are so large that they employ hundreds of part-time and full-time farmers. They even have established workers’ housing at the edges of their property. Working on the farms is often seen as a last-ditch fallback career, as there’s never any shortage of positions to fill. It’s for the good and well-being of your fellow corceïs! The workers put food on everyone’s table! Farther west hosts the oligarch’s orchard. It’s a massive artificial forest littered with all sorts of fruit-bearing trees.
Gaïshon keeping culture is widely known here, with specialized breeding programs and competitions. Beyond and hidden by the orchard lies a darker shadow, the hidden ugly face of the rich farm owners' clean public persona.
Despite work to outlaw the practice, West Pragan is home to so-called "Blood sports". Dozens of small ramshackle arenas are pitched up where gaïshons are forced to fight. Lots of underhanded dealing and illegal bets are wagered at these secretive and elusive bullfight fairs.
