Chapter 13: Surret

Know for their surprisingly playful nature despite being a reptile, Surrets are certainly one of the most famous pets due to being low maintenance and loving companions.
Surrets have been found in the Wastelands and seem to thrive well in any forested habitat with tropical temperatures.
They can live up to 10 years in the wild, reaching full sexual maturity in their second year of life. In captivity, they can live up to 25 years.
Physical Description
- Surrets can be any color found in-real-life snakes, green, black, blue, white, yellow, etc (unless they have the "shiny" mutation).
- They can only have patterns found in existing snakes.
- Their eyes can be any bright or light color (unless they have the "shiny" mutation). The sclera is not visible.
- All surrets have sensorial "whiskers" connected to the corner of their eyes, due to their poor vision, they usually locate themselves by using those. It can sense scent, humidity, and temperature.
- They can reach up to 5'5ft long, and weigh about 30 lbs.
- There is no visible sexual dimorphism between males and females.
Behaviors
- Carnivore
- Usually neutral around cors in the wild, rarely aggressive unless they feel threatened, even then, Surrets do not have any venom glands, as they kill their prey by asphyxiation.
- As pets, they are usually very active and friendly.
- Can lay up to 3 eggs per mating season.
Maintenance
- Requires a tank that is the minimum of their body length in length, with water bowels, vegetation, and climbing areas.
- May need to be fed eggs, insects, or dead rodents every month.
Habitat
- Temperate forests.
