A small lizard, found in the warmer areas of Postinen, usually in the west and south regions of the island, they are masters at digging and hiding.

Gaïkels have also been found in the wastelands, and based on studies so far they share no physical difference.

They can live up to 7 years in the wild, and in captivity up to 20 years old, reaching full sexual maturity in their second year of life.

Physical Description

• Gaïkels can only be earthy or sand colors (unless they have the "shiny" mutation).
• They all have a single line, starting from their nostrils up to their tail, that line is usually bright or easily distinguishable colors when compared to the rest of the body. This line can sometimes create "slits" as they divide into two or three lines and then fuse again at some portion of the body
• Gaïkels can only have soft freckles and gradients, or different colored under.
• Their eyes can be any bright or light color (unless they have the "shiny" mutation). And have no visible sclera.
  
  
• Body length of about 1ft long, and weighs about 3 lbs.
• Being birds of prey, they have very sharp, and long talons, made for gripping and carrying heavy prey into the skies.
• There is no visible sexual dimorphism between males and females.

Behaviors

• Insectivore
• Usually very shy and scared of cors.
• As pets, gaïkels can be affectionate, however not like a Cannäti, they usually show affection by being close to the cors they feel comfortable with.
• Can lay up to 2 eggs per mating season.

Maintenance

• Gaïkels require a terrarium with lots of enrichment, soft substrate so they can burrow, vegetation, climbing areas, heating lamps, etc.

Habitat

• Warm habitats, usually with spotty vegetation or arid regions.
