In book: The Prince and the Blofti Queen
The absence of the Lowfti brought great sadness to an already withering landscape.
The king of a nearby kingdom decided this would not stand, and he ordered corceïs, both knights and hunters, to bring the Lowfti back by any means necessary.
Many of Alma’s slower young were caught in nets and traps. As they were sad and scared, they only brought more sadness with their magical energy. As a result, the king had them culled, and the royal alchemist brewed them into a potion.
When drank, anyone plagued with deep melancholy would be granted eternal happiness. The greedy lurched for such a profitable tincture, and so Alma fled farther and farther away, taking as many of her remaining children as she could carry on her short little legs.
